Ms. Cathy Sartain, M.Ed., explores the issues and confusion that exists about grading practices for students with disabilities. In the interview, she addresses the challenges faced by educators, the needs for understanding from both educators and parents, and important points in addressing the challenges. Ms. Sartain also shares strategies from her work with districts in crafting customized grading procedures and guidelines that are within district and state policies and address student’s mastery and non-mastery of instruction.
